How bread is made

At the bakery the baker will mix flour, water, yeast and salt to make a dough.

This dough is then divided into the right size and shape for the bread that he is going to make.

The dough is left for a while in a warm place to allow the yeast to do its magic ! This stage is called proving, and is when the yeast makes the bread dough rise.

After proving the dough is baked in the oven. When the loaf has been baked, it is left to cool before being sliced and wrapped and sent to the shops.
