Fun with Flour
This recipe is suitable for children aged 2 years or older and requires adult supervision at all times
3 cups flour
3 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups salt
6 teaspoons cream of tartar
3 tablespoons cooking oil
3 teaspoons food colouring (optional)
Directions: Mix all dry ingredients together plus the cooking oil. Once well blended, add boiling water a little at a time and the food colouring. Stir dough mixture until it leaves the sides of the bowl. Remove and knead well on floured board. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate.
Make sure you have an adult to help you with this one !
Slices of bread, Sliced Tomatoes, Grated or sliced cheese and any other toppings you fancy !
what you do:
1. Toast each slice of bread.
2. Then cover each piece of toast with the slices of tomato and then the cheese.
3. Add any extra toppings on top.
4. Grill your pizza toast under a medium heat until the cheese bubbles.
5. Enjoy eating your pizza but watch out – it will be hot!
Baked Craft Clay
What you will need:
Some adult supervision!
4 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten
Directions: Mix together and knead until smooth. Separate into parts and add a few drops of different colours of food colouring. Make shapes by hand or with a cookie cutter and brush egg over the top. Put shapes on baking paper and bake in the oven at 300F degrees for about one hour until the clay is golden. Seal with clear varnish to make shiny. Paint them for fun.
